Good Morning, Newquay!
So, tomorrow is my 39th birthday and it got me wondering, would I still be alive during Roman times or the Middle Ages?… The answer is no. 😟
It turns out life expectancy was 25 years during the Roman Empire. It reached 33 years by the Middle Ages and raised up to 55 years in the early 1900s.
So from this Roman Grandad, let’s get to today’s issue…

This is what a Peugeot 206 looks like.
Yesterday lunchtime at approximately 12.15pm a carers car was stolen from the Treloggan area.
It’s a Silver Peugeot 206, Registration: GX05 CNE.
What shocks me the most isn’t a car being stolen. Even though it doesn’t happen that often in Cornwall, it’s the time of day.
To be honest I rarely ever lock my car or my house during the day. I guess that’s one of the downsides to growing up in Cornwall. 😬

This Sunday Scary Little Girls will be at Newquay Orchard with their new show. Riot Showgirrrls.
A mixture of comedy, songs and some hard-hitting facts, The Riot Showgrrrls Club is a cabaret show and participatory craftivism event using humor, music and storytelling to entertain and encourage conversation about how much better than porn actual sex is.
Patriarchy Bingo, PowerPoint and madrigals about the vulva in a fast-paced, feel-good (mostly) feminist fling about great sex in an age of terrible porn, followed by a female-only DJ set with dancing of course.
And to top it all off, Newquay Orchard 's cafe, Heart and Soul will serve some fantastic food and drinks, including Heart and Soul 's signature cocktails.

Born from a Texan American school bus project in lockdown 2020, we spent the Summers of 2021 and 2022 growing our coffee bus here in our hometown of Newquay and finally - in October 2022 - packed up, strapped down, and set off travelling in the bus through France; down the West coast, through snow and into the stunning city of Nancy and beyond.
We returned home to Cornwall in Spring 2023 where we decided to take a leap and evolve Rolling Joe into its first high street store; right here in the little surf town of Newquay where it all began. Coffee & art is our craft, our ritual, our passion. It drives us and inspires us.
With this simple truth we're looking for a positive and energetic trained barista to join the bar team with amazing service skills and a desire to continually develop their coffee skills and knowledge!
