Good Morning,

Mentioning the Nqy Tri on Tuesday reminded me of this story.

When I was 20 I entered the ‘Joe Way Paddle for Life’ event.

Like how bad can it be?

You paddle out the harbour on a surfboard to a marker then back again. 9-year-old kids were doing it in 10 minutes.

Well, 30 minutes into my attempt a guy in a kayak approached me and asked if I wanted to climb in!

I physically couldn’t lift my head off the board. It took me almost 50 minutes! 🙈

I heard someone say, ‘he looks like a Sea Lion sunbathing on a rock’. 🤣

Somehow I’ve only just seen this and even though I don’t visit this beach it makes me so angry!

The ‘Save Whipsiderry Cliffs’ wrote this on their page…

We have been made aware that Cornwall Council intend to install a permanent, LOCKABLE gate at the top of Whipsiderry steps, to prevent the public from accessing the beach via this route.

The recent rockfalls, which happened after the drilling & excavations, have weakened the cliff face meaning there is a risk of further falls, and therefore a risk to public safety. This planned lockable gate is to prevent the public from accessing a potentially dangerous environment.
