Road to be closed for 4 months

I’m sure you already know about this story, but just in case you haven’t, here it is:

Cornwall Council has announced that the A392 which stretches from the Morrisons roundabout to Trevemper Road in Newquay, will be shut until the end of January 2025.

The local authority said the four-month closure is necessary as part of the ongoing development at Trevithick Manor Farm.

It is the second time the major road has been closed. In December 2022 it was also shut to traffic for two weeks while the housing development was getting underway and road and utility works were ongoing.

Cornwall Council’s contractor, Cormac, said the recent closure will involve the creation of a new signalised junction with pedestrian crossings on the A392, between the Trevemper and Treloggan roundabouts.

Additional works include realigning the existing carriageway, installing new drainage systems and utilities, constructing kerbing, installing traffic signals and street lighting, followed by final resurfacing and road marking.
