Mini dive into the new Hotel Victoria owners

So today’s story is slightly different.

I’ve done a ‘mini dive’ into the company buying the Hotel Victoria.

The Nicolas James Group (NJG) is a UK-based property development and investment company with over 30 years of experience in large-scale planning and development across various sectors.

Their operations encompass hospitality, residential, care, and financial investments, adopting a comprehensive approach from site acquisition to construction and operational management.

Key Divisions:

  • Hospitality: NJG owns and operates the Harbour Hotels brand, comprising 15 luxury hotels across southern England. They are also developing a new five-star resort brand, with The Savoy Hotel in Bournemouth as the inaugural site.

  • Care: Under the Manor Life brand, NJG provides high-standard residential care homes, focusing on comfort and quality in prime locations.

  • Construction and Development: NJG manages construction projects through Nicolas James Building Ltd., offering services from site acquisition to project completion.

Notable Projects:

  • Town Quay, Southampton: NJG has submitted plans for a £200 million redevelopment of Town Quay, aiming to create a waterfront destination with restaurants, a marina, apartments, a hotel, and conference facilities.

  • The Savoy Hotel, Bournemouth: Acquired by NJG, The Savoy Hotel is undergoing a £20 million transformation into a five-star resort, marking the launch of NJG's new luxury lifestyle brand.

TLDR:

If NJG buys the Hotel Victoria in Newquay, they might spend a lot of money to make it much nicer.

This could bring more visitors to the area, help local shops and businesses, and create new jobs, which would be great for the town.
