Beers and Cheers at Lusty Beach

This year is Sharp’s Brewing Co’s 30th birthday and Newquay-based Carve Magazine’s 30th anniversary.

It’s also Newquay Boardriders’ 55th year and the 25th for the team at Lusty Glaze Beach.

So, the four organisations have come together to create an epic joint celebration on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, for 140 years of milestone success in the Cornish surfing world.

From 2pm, Lusty Glaze Beach will be the setting for the Carve X Sharp’s Offshore Pilsner Tag Team Surf Competition, organised by Newquay Boardriders, with competitive teams travelling from across Cornwall to get involved.

Then, from 6pm onwards, the joint Birthday Social kicks off with the surf comp prizegiving followed by DJs Pete Isaac of Jelly Jazz and Bude’s B Side Social Club taking to the decks.

Partygoers can enjoy a mix of funk, soul, breaks, and beats alongside stone-baked pizzas and hot and cold drinks that will be available all day and night for those on the beach.

Sharp's Brewing Co. will deliver award-winning beers as prizes on the day, and the contest and Birthday Social are a rare opportunity for the Cornish surf community to come together and celebrate.
