October 16 - Railway line to be closed for 2 weeks

Good Morning,

It’s hard to get past the mid-week blues when the weather outside is like this, but let’s stay positive.

I noticed Gul has a big sale on…. We’re talking £120 wetsuits down to £40, etc. It's the perfect time to buy.

Railway line to be closed for 2 weeks

The Newquay to Par rail line will close for two weeks to allow new tracks to be laid as part of the Mid Cornwall Metro project.

In correspondence seen by Radio Newquay, GWR and Network Rail confirmed that the line will close from Monday, November 18th, until Sunday, December 1st.

The closure is to enable new tracks to be laid so that trains can run to the reinstated second platform at Newquay railway station.

This is part of the Mid Cornwall Metro scheme, which is scheduled for completion in 2026 and will create a direct rail link between Newquay and Falmouth.

During this period, replacement buses will operate between St Austell and Newquay, though most will not call at Par.
