September 11 - Rick Rescorla Twin Towers
Good Morning,
There are only 3 days in history when I can remember exactly where I was.
The 1st was my wedding in 2015, the 2nd when Diana died, and the 3rd…
11th of September 2001.
I’ll never forget the story of Rick Rescorla, born in Hayle.
In 62 years, he lived more lifetimes than I’ll ever manage, from training as a paratrooper at 17. Worked as a policeman in Zambia at 21 and fought for the US in the Vietnam War at 26.
He died in the Twin Towers attack aged 62 while saving nearly 2,700 Morgan Stanley employees. Check out his Wikipedia page here.

New street art mural
SeaSpace has unveiled a new coastal street art mural at an iconic Newquay landmark.
It has been created in collaboration with local artist and teacher Phil Strugnell.
The mural, which stretches 11 by 8 metres across the side wall of the former Sands Resort building, is part of the aparthotel's aim to establish a creative future.
After taking over the site in 2023, the SeaSpace team was keen to keep its waymarker status alive, while introducing a new chapter with a reimagined pop of colour.
