August 22 - Unstable Sand Dunes at Crantock

Good Morning,

I drove by the Gannel this morning and don’t ever remember seeing the water as high as it is.

It was completely covering the bridge near the roundabout.

If any of you have a photo, send it to me, and I’ll put it in tomorrow’s ND.

Unstable Sand Dunes at Crantock

After this week’s super high Spring tides, the sand dunes at Crantock have become extremely dangerous and unstable again. Whilst this video does not show the full extent of the falls, the sand above is extremely unstable and there have been significant other falls.

Please keep your distance and do not be tempted to walk, climb or dig in or around them.

Please also keep dogs and children clear.

If you witness an incident on the dunes that requires assistance please call 999 and ask for Coastguard and Fire and Rescue.

I don’t know the date. Looks early 1900s.

And we moan about how cold the water is even in our 5/3 wetsuits. 😆
