September 4 - What business is needed in Newquay?
Good Morning,
Last night was the first evening I noticed how quickly it gets dark. It makes me feel like I need to strap on a head torch after 5pm. 😀
But at least we don’t live in Iceland, where, during the winter, they see a maximum of 5 hours of light a day! 🤔

What business is needed in Newquay?
Last week, business owner Dani Gibson asked the Newquay locals that question.
I’ve gone through the replies, and here are the top 10 most popular answers.
1. Fishmongers
Multiple people emphasised the need for a fishmonger in a coastal town, especially since it's surprising that a harbour town lacks one.
2. Greengrocers
Many comments called for a greengrocer, highlighting the need for fresh produce shops not part of supermarkets.
3. Clothes Shops (Non-Surf)
Many residents asked for more clothing stores that cater to locals rather than tourists, especially shops that aren't focused on surfwear.
4. Butchers
A butcher shop was another common request, with people specifically asking for one centrally located and independent of supermarkets.
5. B&M
B&M was frequently mentioned, with people wanting more variety in affordable home goods and groceries.
6. Nando's
Several comments mentioned the desire for a Nando's, indicating a demand for more popular chain restaurants in the area.
7. Asian Supermarket
There were multiple requests for an Asian supermarket, reflecting a demand for more diverse food shopping options.
8. Shoe Shops
Shoe shops, especially those selling children's school shoes, were highlighted as a missing and needed business in Newquay.
9. DIY/Hardware Store
A DIY store was another frequent request, with people noting the inconvenience of travelling to Truro for hardware needs.
10. Bank
Although not as frequently mentioned as others, the call for a bank was notable, reflecting the need for essential financial services.
In regards to number 9, go to Micro DIY.
